Serialul, a carui actiune se petrece in Rajasthan, urmareste destinul unei fetite pe nume Anandi, obligata sa se casatoreasca la varsta de opt ani. Din acel moment, fetita este nevoita sa intre intr-o lume noua, total straina de ea si sa se conformeze regulilor noii sale familii. Desi este doar o copila, este coplesita de rolurile care-i revin: de prietena, iubita, sotie si fiica, in acelasi timp. Ajunsa la adolescenta, problemele nu se sfarsesc, ba, din contra, Anandi se confrunta cu noi provocari in incercarea de a-si gasi calea in viata.
Serialul descrie situatia dificila prin care trec acesti copii, obligati sa se casatoreasca, in numele traditiei, la o varsta frageda, si consecintele pe care sunt nevoiti sa le suporte pentru tot restul vietii.
